Emil Frey Racing will begin a new chapter in its GT racing history next week as attention shifts towards the start of the ADAC GT Masters championship. The team will take part in the official pre-season test which will be held between April 5-6.

The two-day test will take place at the Oschersleben circuit in eastern Germany, just over an hour outside of the capital Berlin. It will act as the first representative running before the season-opener at the same venue on April 23-24.

ADAC GT Masters is one of the most competitive national GT3 championships in the world, attracting many of the teams and drivers that race in GT World Challenge Europe. Unlike GTWC, the Germany-based championship focuses on two one-hour sprint races each weekend, with endurance giving way to outright pace.

Two-thirds of the team’s GTWC line-up, Albert Costa and Jack Aitken will join forces for the season and will drive the #63 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo in the test, while Arthur Rougier and Franck Perera form an all-French partnership in the #19 car. Both Costa and Perera are official Lamborghini Factory Drivers and have extensive GT Masters experience in the past.

Lamborghini newcomer Mick Wishofer joins Konsta Lappalainen in the #14 as the pair continue to develop their partnership. The Austrian has previous GT Masters experience, with Mercedes and Porsche and has two podiums to his name, including one victory.

Emil Frey Racing has already completed a private test at Hockenheim and will use the base set-up derived from these sessions as a starting point for the official test. As ever, the team will run simulations on various race weekend scenarios, testing different set-ups across all three cars. Additional fine-tuning of processes will also be carried out to ensure the team approaches the first race weekend in the best shape possible.

The test will be the first time Emil Frey Racing has driven at Oschersleben, while the remainder of the calendar also presents new challenges for the Swiss team. In addition to Oschersleben, new tracks to learn include the high-speed Lausitzring and the tight and twisty Sachsenring.
